Be More Grateful,  Be More Mindful,  Be More Positive

Three Things

We‌ ‌take‌ ‌so‌ ‌many‌ ‌things‌ ‌for‌ ‌granted‌ ‌in‌ ‌our‌ ‌lives.‌

‌A‌ ‌good‌ ‌way‌ ‌to‌ ‌remind‌ ‌ourselves‌ ‌of‌ ‌how‌ ‌fortunate‌ ‌we‌ ‌are‌ ‌is‌ ‌to‌ ‌get‌ ‌into‌ ‌the‌ ‌habit‌ ‌of‌ ‌thinking‌ ‌about‌ ‌three‌ ‌things‌ ‌–‌ ‌just‌ ‌three‌ ‌things‌ ‌–‌ ‌that‌ ‌we‌ ‌are‌ ‌grateful‌ ‌for‌ ‌today,‌ ‌and‌ ‌are‌ ‌amazing‌ ‌and‌ ‌incredible‌ ‌in‌ ‌their‌ ‌own‌ ‌right.‌ ‌

The‌ ‌fact‌ ‌that‌ ‌we‌ ‌can‌ ‌see,‌ ‌for‌ ‌example.‌ ‌Or‌ ‌hear,‌ ‌or‌ ‌walk,‌ ‌or‌ ‌talk. The‌ ‌fact‌ ‌that‌ ‌we‌ ‌have‌ ‌teeth‌ ‌to‌ ‌eat‌ ‌food,‌ ‌a‌ ‌chair‌ ‌to‌ ‌sit‌ ‌in,‌ ‌a‌ ‌cup‌ ‌of‌ ‌coffee,‌ ‌a‌ ‌book‌ ‌to‌ ‌read,‌ ‌a‌ ‌friend,‌ ‌a‌ ‌job,‌ ‌money,‌ ‌food‌ ‌to‌ ‌eat,‌ ‌water‌ ‌to‌ ‌drink,‌ ‌a‌ ‌computer,‌ ‌a‌ ‌fridge,‌ ‌a‌ ‌fork‌ ‌to‌ ‌eat‌ ‌with.‌ ‌Electric‌ ‌light,‌ ‌heating,‌ ‌fresh‌ ‌water‌ ‌in‌ ‌our‌ ‌house.‌ ‌A‌ ‌flushing‌ ‌toilet,‌ ‌a‌ ‌shower.‌ ‌Or‌ ‌the‌ ‌beautiful‌ ‌sky,‌ ‌fresh‌ ‌air,‌ ‌a‌ ‌roof‌ ‌over‌ ‌our‌ ‌heads,‌ ‌the‌ ‌birds‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌sky,‌ ‌the‌ ‌ants‌ ‌marching‌ ‌on‌ ‌the‌ ‌ground,‌ ‌the‌ ‌bees‌ ‌buzzing‌ ‌around‌ ‌the‌ ‌flowers,‌ ‌the‌ ‌wide‌ ‌variety‌ ‌of‌ ‌trees‌ ‌that‌ ‌surround‌ ‌us.‌ ‌I‌ ‌could‌ ‌go‌ ‌on‌ ‌and‌ ‌on…and‌ ‌on!‌

‌We have so‌ ‌much – ‌ ‌yet‌ ‌how ‌much ‌time‌ ‌do we‌ ‌spend‌ ‌thinking‌ ‌about‌ ‌it,‌ ‌how‌ much‌ ‌time‌do we‌ ‌spend‌ ‌being‌ ‌amazed‌ ‌and‌ ‌grateful‌ ‌for‌ ‌the‌ ‌incredible‌ ‌bounty‌ ‌that‌ ‌we‌ ‌have‌ ‌around‌ ‌us? Not much, if any time at all.

‌So find ‌a‌ ‌notebook or use a notebook app, ‌and‌ ‌every‌ ‌day make‌ ‌a‌ ‌note‌ ‌of‌ ‌three‌ ‌things‌ ‌that‌ ‌amaze‌ ‌you, and ‌that‌ ‌you’re‌ ‌grateful‌ ‌for‌ ‌having‌ ‌in‌ ‌your‌ ‌life‌ ‌today.‌

‌You’ll‌ ‌quickly‌ ‌become‌ ‌more‌ ‌aware‌ ‌of‌ ‌everything‌ ‌around‌ ‌you,‌ ‌and‌ ‌begin‌ ‌to‌ ‌appreciate‌ ‌how‌ ‌lucky‌ ‌you‌ ‌are. And it’s great to re-read your notebook when you’re feeling negative or down – re-reading will remind you of all you have to be positive about.
